How To Make Money Blogging
Many people start blogging with huge dollar signs in their eyes. they think that a blog will be their path to fame, fortune and untold riches. It can be for a select few with a lot of talent, perseverance, dedication and a little luck. But for most people a blog may be just a way to scrape off a little extra cash while doing something they enjoy. Regardless knowing the steps to on how to make money blogging should be something well known by both the most seasoned professional and the rankest amatuer.
Taking the first steps to make money blogging.
You may be trying to make a living writing online. At some time you may have heard that there is a lot of money to be made in blogging. There is but it is not as easy as many make it seem.
I am going to give you the strait scoop. Making a lot of money blogging is not easy. It can be done; do not let me dissuade you from trying. But there is no magic button to spit wads of cash out through a blog. For the first six months, unless you have a huge base of contacts and a lot of experience blogging all ready it is likely that you will spend more money than you will make. If you are still reading let me get to the nitty gritty.
Free Blogs to make money.
Using Wordpress or Blogger blogs are great way to start. But they are not great ways to make money. If you want to play around they are great ways to do it. They are free, you may even make a couple bucks a month. You can certainly learn some nuances and not spend money doing it. These sites do walk you through the steps for monetizing, once you start to get a few people visiting.
For a long term or serious blog you will want to pay for hosting and a domain. Dont' worry, it is not very expensive
The costs of a pay blog.
There are not many that are mandatory. Just a domain name, which you want to match the niche keywords that you are targeting. That is 5-10$ a year depending on the site. Go Daddy (I am sure you have seen the commercials) is a big one that is fine. The you need hosting. Hostgator is a popular one for that service. There are other optional things like "Themes" an email hosting service like Aweber that will be needed in the long run, but do not get them until you have some traffic and know that you need them to do better.
Content, Content, Content
You will hear the phrase "Content is King" a lot. This is true for a blog. Very true. You will not get much traffic at first. Do not worry for a couple of months just make sure you build content. Write a lot of articles. Interlink the articles. YOU are building all the back content that people will be checking out later. Learn to use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for these articles so that they will eventually rank in Google. After you have about 50 quality articles, or close to it. You can start worrying about traffic. But keep churning out those articles on some form of a regular basis.
Actually Getting traffic.
Now you need to be aggressive and get people to come and see what you have written. Here are the ways to do that:
1) Leave quality comments on other sites/forums
2) Tweet/Facebook/Digg/Stumble all of your articles. This form of social networking will drive some traffic to your site. The more of a network you have from the beginning the more traffic you will be driving when you are ready. SO building up these networks can be done from the beginning also.
3) Guest post on other sites. Leave quality content on related popular sites. These will get people to link back to your site.
Monetize you Blog:
At this point you might be driving enough traffic to make a little money blogging. You can use Adsense and Chickita Ads, Affiliate Marketing by having posts that drive people to other products you get a commission on. The bad news with the low traffic you get at first you may only be making 30-50$ a month and putting in 50+ hours a month building it, and that could potentially be a little bit generous for money made. From this point on though, if you can keep at it and keep growing the content of your site, those numbers will increase.
Do this for long enough and you can actually have a passive income you can live off of. Not instant riches by any means. Anyone who tells you that you can un-box a product and make money in a few clicks is trying to make money selling you the box. The only way to make money blogging is to stick at it for a long time, have great idea and work it until you are successful.

How much are my websites worth?
So i'm planning to sell 5 websites I developed a long time ago that i'm no longer interested in operating. Many of them have been live for years but i stopped working on them a long time ago so none are bringing in revenue at this time.
I know how much they're worth to develop ofcourse but I'm trying to figure out how "expensive" they look to a potential client who does not understand website development value and just sees the income "potential" of owning such a business. So if you could try to put yourself in such a person's shoes and give me some ideas (please disregard the prices you see there now).
The sites are all listed here - http://finalstepmarketing.com/listing.php
If it helps my general target market is stay at home moms, recently unemployed or underemployed, and those fed up with their job and looking to make money from home. I guess that just about covers the whole population though.
If anyone has some other ideas on how to sell these please let me know. Right now i'm just going through ebay and some site flipping services.

Can you make enough money from home and pay the bills?
I was wondering if there are ways from home you can make money and have enough to pay just utility bills alone. I'm currently 29 weeks pregnant and my parents offered me a house from our home town that's already paid off. The only bill i need to pay every month is the utilities. I don't have a job and really don't want to get one once my baby comes. So if there are any or all ways someone can give me ideas on how to make money from home i would gladly appreciate it so very much. And more importantly if making money from home can pay the bills? :)
